I was thinking to start a new post series: “Someone’s old, my new”, where I show you my second-hand finds. What would you say?
I will start the series with this winter wool coat that is definitely my best second-hand find from last year. I had been looking for a long wool coat in beige already longer, and out of the sudden, when I was visiting a second-hand store in Örebro in autumn, I found this one. We were looking something totally different, but when passing by the coat rack, I couldn’t miss this long, beige coat.
After a closer look, I saw that the coat was in my size, a Dixi-coat designed by Swedish designer Rohdi Heintz, made in Finland by Teiniasu Oy, 80% wool, 15% polyamide, 5% other fibres, and in really good condition. I tried it on and bought it without a second thought. I just couldn’t leave it to the store. I have to say that 350kr well spent. Someone’s old coat was now my new treasure.
That was a dream coat waiting for me there. I got interested since I know that not so many coats are made in Finland anymore, and Teiniasu Oy sounds like a brand from the past to me. I googled the brand, and according to Wikipedia Teiniasu Oy was a clothing factory in Turku, Finland, active in 1956-1989. I really would like to know from which year my coat is from, but at least it is over 30 years old, that’s for sure, but it looks like new. If you know or even have a clue, please let me know!

Ps. I just can’t leave this post without commenting on the pictures. Look at that light! That was perfect when I was having my one-woman photoshoot last week. No post-editing needed, and the amount of energy I got, amazing. Just gotta love the sunlight after dark season.
